Restoring a Team to Its Original Location in Teams

You can restore a team to its original location.

The channel name will not change after the restore. If you run a restore after deleting the channel, the channel is restored with the naming convention "ChannelName_Restore_TimeStamp".

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Office 365.

    The Office 365 Overview page appears.

  2. On the Apps tab, click the app.

    The Overview page of the app appears.

  3. To perform a restore, click Restore on the upper-right area of the page.

    The available Restore options tool appears.

  4. To restore individual teams, select Restore teams, and then click Next.

  5. From the list, in the Name column, click the name of the team that you want to restore, and then click Next.

    The Destination tab appears.

  6. Under Microsoft Teams, leave Restore the data to its original location selected and then click Next.

    The Options tab appears.

  7. Beside If the file exists, specify the required options, and then click Next.

    • To skip existing file, select Skip.

    • To overwrite existing files with the restore files, select Unconditionally overwrite.

    • To include dleted items in the restore job, select the Include deleted items checkbox.

  8. Under the Review tab, review your options and then click Submit.

    The Summary tab appears.

  9. Click Close.
