Removing the Web Authenticator as an End User

You can remove your web authenticator. For example, if you don't want to use the web authenticator, you can remove it.

After the web authenticator is removed, you can log on using your password and a PIN.

Before You Begin

Connect the authenticator to the USB port on your computer.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Security.

    The Security page appears.

  2. Click the Users tile.

    The Users page appears.

  3. In the row for the user, click the action button actions button***use the other one ->86655***, and then click Remove web authenticator.

    The Remove web authenticator dialog box appears.

  4. From the Web authenticator name list, select the web authenticator you want to remove for the user.

  5. From the Verification method list, select one of the following two verification methods:

    • OTP: To enter a one-time password (OTP) in the event of physically losing a web authenticator, select OTP.

      The Pin field appears with a GET PIN button.

    • Web Authenticator: To use the web authenticator for verification, select Web Authenticator.

      Note

      If you are an administrator, you only need to enter your Commvault Cloud account password.

  6. If you selected OTP, then:

    1. Click GET PIN.

      You will receive a PIN in the registered email.

    2. In the Pin field enter the pin.

  7. Click CONFIRM.

    The Making sure it's you dialog box appears.

  8. Follow the instructions for the web authenticator that appears on the screen.

    A message appears saying the web authenticator is removed successfully.
