Use the Express Configuration to Create a Teams App

You can use the express configuration option, which automates some configuration steps, to create a Teams app.

After you create the Azure app that is needed for the Teams app, the express configuration automatically syncs the app with Azure and authorizes the Azure app. The express configuration does not create a service account for Teams.

Before You Begin

Verify that you have a user account that is licensed for Teams.

Create the Teams App

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Service Catalog.

  2. On the Microsoft 365 tile, click Configure, and then select Teams.

  3. Start the O365 trial or continue to the configuration tool:

    • If you have never configured an Office 365 app before, the Office 365 configuration tool appears.

      1. Click Start Trial.

The Configure Office 365 message box appears. You must wait while the Commvault Cloud software activates the Commvault Cloud subscription, creates Office 365 plans, and creates a Server plan for Office 365 backups.

      2. When this process is complete, click Close.

    • If you have configured an Office 365 app before, the Office 365 Trial message appears.

  4. Click Continue.

The Create Exchange Online App tool appears.

  5. On the Region tab, from the Storage region list, select a region, and then click Next.

    The Application tab appears.

  6. In the Name box, enter a name for the app.

  7. From the Cloud region list, select the region where Teams is hosted.

    • If Teams is not hosted in a national cloud, select Default (Global Service).

    • If Teams is hosted in a national cloud, select the region.

  8. Select Express configuration (Recommended).

  9. Click Sign in with Microsoft.

A Microsoft window displays all the permissions that are required to access the Azure app.

If the browser pop-up blocker blocks the Microsoft window, allow access to the Microsoft window.

  10. At the bottom of the Microsoft window, click Accept.

  11. Click Create.

    The Summary tab appears.

  12. Click Close.

Note

Microsoft recommends adding a single Azure app per Teams workload. You can consider adding more Azure apps to increase the throughput, but this might result in tenant-level throttling and impact the performance for end users in Office 365 tenant. Do not add more than 5 Azure apps per Teams workload. For steps to add Azure apps, see Add Azure Apps to the Teams App.
