Use the Express Configuration to Create an Exchange Online App

You can complete the Office 365 guided setup using the express configuration option, which automates some configuration steps.

After you create the Azure app that is needed for the Exchange Online app, the express configuration syncs the app with Azure, and then syncs and authorizes the Azure app with Azure.

Create the Exchange Online App

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Service Catalog.

  2. On the Microsoft 365 tile, click Configure, and then select Exchange.

  3. Start the O365 trial or continue to the configuration tool:

    • If you have never configured an Office 365 app before, the Office 365 configuration tool appears.

      1. Click Start Trial.

The Configure Office 365 message box appears. You must wait while the Commvault Cloud software activates the Commvault Cloud subscription, creates Office 365 plans, and creates a backup plan for Office 365 backups.

      2. When this process is complete, click Close.

    • If you have configured an Office 365 app before, the Office 365 Trial message appears.

  4. Click Continue.

The Create Exchange Online App tool appears.

  5. On the Region tab, from the Storage region list, select a region, and then click Next.

    The Application tab appears.

  6. In the Name box, enter a name for the app.

  7. From the Cloud region list, select the region where Exchange Online is hosted.

    • If Exchange Online is not hosted in a national cloud, select Default (Global Service).

    • If Exchange Online is hosted in a national cloud, select the region.

  8. Select Express configuration (Recommended).

  9. Click Sign in with Microsoft.

A Microsoft window displays all the permissions that are required to access the Azure app.

If the browser pop-up blocker blocks the Microsoft window, allow access to the Microsoft window.

  10. At the bottom of the Microsoft window, click Accept.

  11. On the Application tab, click Create.

    The Summary tab appears.

  12. Click Close.

Note

For better job throughput, add at least five Azure apps to the Exchange Online app. For more information, see Add Azure Apps.
