To verify that the Gmail app is set up correctly, perform a test backup and restore.
Back Up the Mailbox

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Google Workspace.
The Google Workspace Overview page appears.

On the Apps tab, click the Gmail app.
The Overview page of the app appears.

In the row for the app, click the action button
, and then click Backup.
The Backup options dialog box appears.

Under the Advanced options, from the Items to backup list, select the mailboxes that you want to backup.

Set the Enable total running time as required to allow the job to auto-commit.

Click SUBMIT.
Restore the Mailbox

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Google Workspace.
The Google Workspace Overview page appears.

On the Apps tab, click the Gmail app.
The Overview page of the app appears.

At the top-right area of the page, click Restore.
Contents for all mailboxes in the Gmail app appear.

From the list, select the mailbox or items that you want to restore.

At the top-left area of the page, click Restore.
The Destination page of the Restore options configuration wizard appears.

Leave the options for restoring to the original location selected.

Click NEXT.
The Options page of the configuration wizard appears.

Leave the default options selected.

Click NEXT.
The Review page of the configuration wizard appears.

Review the items to be restored.

Click SUBMIT.
The Summary page of the configuration wizard appears.

The Summary page displays the restore job details.

Click CLOSE.
