You can use the Commvault Cloud software to back up and restore Gmail mailboxes and archived emails.

Backups

Backups run according to the schedule and settings that are specified in the Google Workspace plan associated to the Gmail account.

Backups run automatically every 8 hours. If a backup is already running, then the 8-hour-interval backup is skipped.

Backups You Can Perform

  • Forever incremental backups

When You Can Perform Backups

  • On a schedule: The backup plan that you assign manages scheduled backups.

  • On demand: You can perform on-demand backups at any time.

Restores

Backups You Can Use for Restores

  • The most recent backup: For example, restore the most recent backup to its original location.

  • A backup from a specific date: For example, restore data to a point in time before it became unusable.

  • Backups from a date range: For example, restore data that was accidentally deleted.

Destinations You Can Restore To

  • The current location (in place)

  • A different folder on the same mailbox, or a different mailbox on the same app(out of place)

Authentication

Modern authentication is used to access data for backups and restores.

Autodiscovery of Users

By default, autodiscovery runs every 24 hours to update users and user groups from the Google Cloud.
