You can manage the backup content within an object storage group.
Modify Content and Region
You can modify the content of an existing object storage group and the region the content resides in. When choosing a different region, consider potential inter-regional transfer costs.

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Object storage.
The Overview page appears.

On the Object storage groups tab, click the object storage group.
The object storage group name is Azure Data Lake Discovery by default.
The object storage group Overview page appears.

On the Rules tab, click the edit button.
The Manage content dialog box appears.

To create rules that auto-discover and select storage accounts to back up, do the following:

Click Add, and then select Rule group.
The Add rule group page appears.

For Match rule, select all or any.
-
Use all to create a rule group where all the defined conditions must be satisfied. Here, the AND logic is used.

Use any if you want to create a rule group where only a few of the defined conditions need to be satisfied. Here, the OR logic is used.

From the list, select the type of rule to create, and then specify the rule:

Region: Select storage accounts based on the region that they reside in.

Resource group: Select storage accounts based on the Azure resource group they are in.

Storage account: Select the specific storage account.

Tag name: Select storage accounts based on the names of tags that are assigned to them. For example, to select storage accounts that have a tag name of "Department", enter Tag name | Equals | Department.

Tag value: Select storage accounts based on the values of tags that are assigned to them. For example, to select storage accounts that have a tag value of "Finance", enter Tag value | Equals | Finance.

To create another rule, click Add Rule.

Click Save.

Select a Different Storage Account
You can select a different storage account for the object storage group.

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Object storage.
The Overview page appears.

On the Object storage groups tab, click the object storage group.
The object storage group name is Azure Data Lake Discovery by default.
The object storage group Overview page appears.

On the Rules tab, click the edit button.
The Manage content dialog box appears.

To select a different storage account, do the following:

Click Add, and then select Storage accounts.
The Add Azure Blob storage accounts dialog box appears.

To display the Azure storage accounts outside the selected region, select the Only show storage accounts from the selected region check box.
Note
This is only applicable for backups using backup gateways.

To search for a specific storage account, in the Search box, enter the storage account name.

Click Save.

Click Save.
Preview Discovery Rules for Storage Accounts
To ensure that your storage accounts are accurately backed up, you can preview and customize the discovery rules to align with your specific requirements.

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Object storage.
The Overview page appears.

On the Object storage groups tab, click the object storage group.
The object storage group name is Azure Data Lake Discovery by default.
The object storage group Overview page appears.

On the Rules tab, click the edit button.
The Manage content page appears.

Click Preview.
The Preview Discovery Rules page appears.

The storage accounts that match the predefined rules are displayed.

You can modify the backup content.

Click Save.
Disable Backups for Storage Accounts Not Meeting Discovery Rules
You can disable backups of storage accounts discovered by the object storage group that no longer match the updated discovery rules.

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Object storage.
The Overview page appears.

On the Object storage groups tab, click the object storage group.
The object storage group name is Azure Data Lake Discovery by default.
The object storage group Overview page appears.

On the Rules tab, click the edit button.
The Manage content page appears.

To disable backup activity on storage accounts discovered by the object storage group that no longer match the updated rules, select the Automatically disable backup for instances no longer matching the rules check box.
For example, if you have two rules that discover account A and account B, and the user changes the rules to remove account A, the backup activity for account A will be disabled during the next discovery job.
