Getting Started with Qumulo File Storage

Verify that access node meets the hardware specifications and the environment meets the system requirements, complete the file server guided setup, and then perform a test backup and restore.

Procedure

  1. Verify that your access node meets the hardware specifications to back up the CIFS shares and NFS exports.

  2. Verify that the Qumulo cluster user has the minimum required permissions.

  3. Verify that your Qumulo file server to be backed up has Qumulo Core Version 4.3.4, 5.2.x, and 5.3.4 or a higher version installed.

  4. To access the Qumulo File Storage server via CIFS, the access node requires the Windows File System software. Verify that your access node meets meets the system requirements for the Commvault Windows File System software.

  5. To access the Qumulo File Storage server via NFS, the access node requires the Linux File System software. Verify that your access node meets the system requirements for the Linux file system.

  6. Verify that the subclient contents are the same as or a descendant of the exported shares.

  7. Add Qumulo File Storage.

  8. Perform a test backup and restore.
