Enabling Two-Factor Authentication for Local Users

You can enable two-factor authentication (which is a form of multi-factor authentication) only for local users and user groups in your company.

Note

If you configured an identity provider for your company, enabling two-factor authentication does not affect the authentication of the identity provider user accounts.

Procedure

  1. Go to https://login.metallic.io/ and log on.

  2. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Company.
    The company page appears.

  3. In the General section, move the Enable two factor authentication toggle key to the right.
    The Enable two factor authentication dialog box appears.

  4. Enable two factor authentication:

    • All: To enable two-factor authentication for all users in the company, leave this option selected .

    • User groups: To enable two-factor authentication at the user group level in the company, select this option.

  5. Under Web authentication:

    • To allow users log on without a password using the web authenticator method, move the Allow passwordless login toggle key to the right.

    • To allow users to log on using the web authenticator method only, move the Allow passwordless login and the Allow usernameless login toggle keys to the right.

  6. Click Save.
