Create an Exchange Online App Using the Custom Configuration

Create an Exchange Online app using the custom configuration option.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Service Catalog.

  2. On the Microsoft 365 tile, click Configure, and then select Exchange.

  3. Start the O365 trial or continue to the configuration tool:

    • If you have never configured an Office 365 app before, the Office 365 configuration tool appears.

      1. Click Start Trial.

        The Configure Office 365 message box appears. You must wait while the Commvault Cloud software activates the Commvault Cloud subscription, creates Office 365 plans, and creates a backup plan for Office 365 backups.

      2. When this process is complete, click Close.

    • If you have configured an Office 365 app before, the Office 365 Trial message appears.

  4. Click Continue.

    The Create Exchange Online App tool appears.

  5. On the Region tab, from the Storage region list, select a region, and then click Next.

    The Application tab appears.

  6. In the Name box, enter a name for the app.

  7. From the Cloud region list, select the region where Exchange Online is hosted.

    • If Exchange Online is not hosted in a national cloud, select Default (Global Service).

    • If Exchange Online is hosted in a national cloud, select the region.

  8. Select Custom configuration (Advanced).

    If you did not manually register the Azure app with Azure AD, you can use the custom configuration toolkit, which automates the registration process.

  9. In the Application ID box, enter the Azure application ID.

  10. In the Application secret box, enter the Azure application secret.

  11. In the Azure directory ID box, enter the Azure directory ID.

  12. Verify the requirements, and then select the The Azure app is authorized from the Azure portal with all the required permissions check box.

  13. Click Create.

    The Summary tab appears.

  14. Click Close.

Note

For better job throughput, add at least five Azure apps to the Exchange Online app. For more information, see Add Azure Apps.
