Adding a Web Authenticator to Your CommCell Account

Updated

You can add a web authenticator—either a Platform authenticator or a Roaming authenticator, or both—to your account. After you add the web authenticator to your account, by default, the Commvault Cloud software uses the authenticator as the second step for two-factor authentication.

The next time you log on to Commvault Cloud, the software prompts you to connect the authenticator to the USB port on your computer.

Before You Begin

  • Ask your administrator to enable two-factor authentication.

Optionally, enable passwordless login or both usernameless and passwordless login.

  • Connect the authenticator to the USB port on your computer. If you do not have an authenticator, contact your Commvault Cloud administrator.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Security.

    The Security page appears.

  2. Click the Users tile.

    The Users page appears.

  3. In the row for the user that you want add an authenticator for, click the action button actions button***use the other one ->86655***, and then click Add web authenticator.

The Making sure it's you dialog box appears.

  8. Follow the instructions for the authenticator type that appears on the screen.

  9. If a prompt appears asking you to allow the website to see your authenticator, click Allow.

A message appears saying the authenticator is registered successfully.
