Adding an Azure Storage Account for Azure Files

Add the Azure storage account that you would like to back up.

Before You Begin

If you do not have a registered Azure app, configure access to Azure resources.

Procedure

  1. In Name, enter the file share name for the object storage client.

  2. In Endpoint URL, enter the service account URL.

  3. For Authentication, select one of the following:

    • If you select Access key and account name, do the following:

      1. For Credentials, select existing credentials or create new credentials.

        Steps to create credentials
        1. Click the add button add/plus button - gray - no border.

          The Add credential dialog box appears.

        2. In Credential name, enter a descriptive name for the credentials.

        3. In Account name, enter an account name.

        4. In Access key ID, enter the access key ID.

          Note

          You can also enter a shared access signature (SAS) key.

        5. In Description, enter a description of the credentials.

        6. Click Save.

    • If you select IAM AD Application, do the following:

      1. For Credentials, select existing credentials or create new credentials.

        Steps to create credentials
        1. Click the add button add/plus button - gray - no border.

          The Add credential dialog box appears.

        2. In Credential name, enter a descriptive name for the credentials.

        3. In Tenant ID, enter the Azure tenant ID.

        4. In Application ID, enter the Azure application ID.

        5. In Application secret, enter the Azure application secret.

        6. In Description, enter a description of the credentials.

        7. Click Save.

      2. In Azure storage account name, enter the name of the Azure Storage account.

        Note

        The name of the Azure Storage account must be in lower case.
