You can easily share backed-up files and folders from your computer using the Metallic console.

Grant Access: Choose specific users to either view or edit the file or folder.

Set Expiry Date: You can assign an expiry date for shared access. After this period, users will no longer have access.

Reshare Permissions: You can allow the shared user to reshare the file or folder with others. The permissions they can assign depend on what you initially set.

Custom Notifications: Include personalized messages in the notification emails sent to users.
Use the Metallic console to manage your shares, and users can access the files according to the permissions you've granted.
Before You Begin

Ensure you have the Sharing capability assigned to your user account and that the files and folders are backed up. Contact your administrator to assign the capability.

Users you share with must have a Metallic console account.
Creating a Share

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Laptops.
The Laptops page appears.

Click the Laptops tab.
All laptops in the CommCell environment appear in the Laptops table.

Click RESTORE for the corresponding <Computer Name> that contains the file or folder.
Alternatively, you can click SETTINGS for the computer containing the data that you want to restore, and then click Restore.
The Restore files page appears.

Select the file or folder and click More actions
> Share.
The Share dialog box appears.

Enter the user or user group names and select the corresponding view or edit permission. Additionally, you can:

Select when the share link expires. By default, the expiry is set to Never.

Select whether a file or folder can be reshared or not.

To send an email notification to the users you share with, select Notify people via email and enter a message that will be added to the notification email.

Click SHARE.
Results
A shared icon appears next to the shared file or folder.
If email notification is enabled, the users will receive a notification email with a link to the shared file or folder.
Updating a Share

On the Shared With Me tab, the files shared with you are listed that you can reshare.

On the Shared By Me tab, the files shared by you with others are listed that you can update or delete.
