SAP HANA

You can use the Commvault Cloud software to back up and restore SAP HANA. SAP HANA is also supported in a multi-tenant environment.

SAP HANA restore of encrypted backups feature only supports streaming backups. It does snot support IntelliSnap backup.

Commvault Cloud supports SAP HANA backint protocol versions 1.0 and 1.5.

Backups

Data You Can Back Up

  • All of the database files on each of the nodes

  • The log files on each of the nodes

  • The catalog files

Data That Cannot Be Backed Up

  • Application profiles and binaries that are associated with the SAP HANA installation

Backups You Can Perform

  • Full backups

  • Incremental backups

  • Differential backups

When You Can Perform Backups

  • On a schedule: The backup plan that you assign manages scheduled backups

  • On demand: You can perform on-demand backups at any time

Restores

Data You Can Restore

  • Full database: This restore operation includes the database and the log files

  • Data only

Backups You Can Use for Restores

  • The most recent backup

  • A backup from a specific date (point-in-time)

  • A backup identified by a backup prefix or an internal backup job ID

Destinations You Can Restore To

  • The current location (in place)

  • A different server (out of place)

  • A Clone

Automatic Discovery of Applications

You can automatically discover SAP HANA databases in your environment and install software to back up the SAP HANA databases.
