Password-based root access is automatically restricted when you deploy a new HyperScale Edge node. By restricting root access, the software provides an additional layer of security for the node.
The installation process also creates a new cvbackupadmin user with limited capabilities or commands needed to administer the node. This user's capabilities will be limited to the set of commands supported by the restricted shell.

When root access is disabled, ssh and console login will be prohibited.

Some operations may require root access. In such situations, temporarily enable root access on the node while performing the operation, and then disable root access once the operation is completed.
