Restoring Individual Objects in Active Directory

You can restore specific, individual Active Directory objects from the following backup types:

  • The latest backup

  • A recovery point in time

You can also view the restore history for any Active Directory server.

Restoring from the Latest Backup

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Active Directory.

  2. The Overview page appears.

  3. On the Apps tab, click the Active Directory server for which you want to restore backed up data.

    The server properties page appears.

  4. To restore from the latest backup, do the following:

    1. On the upper-right area of the page, click Restore.

      The backup content page appears.

    2. Choose the content that you want to restore.

      • To restore all contents, select the check box next to Name.

      • To restore particular files, expand the folder and then select the files.

    3. Click Restore.

      The Restore options dialog box appears.

    4. To restore only specific attributes, move the Restore only specific attributes toggle key to the right, enter the name of the attribute to restore, and then click Add.

    5. Click Submit.

Restoring from a Point-in-Time Backup

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Active Directory.

  2. The Overview page appears.

  3. On the Apps tab, click the Active Directory server for which you want to restore backed up data.

    The server properties page appears.

  4. On the Recovery points tile, select the required date to view the recovery points.

    The default recovery point is already selected.

  5. On the Recovery points tile, click Restore.

    The list of backup contents appears.

  6. Choose the content that you want to restore.

    • To restore all contents, select the check box next to Name.

    • To restore particular files, expand the folder and then select the files.

  7. Click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  8. To restore only specific attributes, move the Restore only specific attributes toggle key to the right, enter the name of the attribute to restore, and then click Add.

  9. Click Submit.

Viewing the Restore History

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Active Directory.

  2. The Overview page appears.

  3. To view the restore history, on the Apps tab, beside the Active Directory server, click the action button action_button, and then click View jobs.

    The Job history page appears.
