Restoring a Deleted Object for Salesforce

You can restore an object that was deleted from Salesforce.

Restore the Object Metadata

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Salesforce.

    The Salesforce Overview page appears.

  2. Go to the Organizations tab.

  3. In the row for the Salesforce app that contains the object, click the action button action_button, and then select Restore.

    The Select restore type page appears.

  4. Click Metadata restore.

    The Backup content page appears.

  5. Find the object:

    • From the Show latest backup list, select Show backup for a date range, and then specify From time and To time.

    • In the Search for files box, enter the File name and Size, select the Show deleted files check box, and then click Search.

  6. Select the object, and then click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  7. In the Destination details section, from the Destination organization list, select the Salesforce organization.

  8. Click Run.

  9. Click Confirm.

Restore the Object Data

After the object metadata is restored successfully, restore the data at the object level or the record level.

  1. In the row for the Salesforce app that contains the object, click the action button action_button, and then select Restore.

  2. Do the following:

    • To perform object level restore:

      1. Click Object level restore.

        The Backup content page appears.

      2. Go to the object that you restored metadata for.

      3. Select the object, and then click Restore.

        The Restore options dialog box appears.

      4. Specify where to restore the object:

        • Salesforce: Restore the object to Salesforce.

        • Database: Restore the object to a database.

      5. Specify whether to include or exclude parent and child objects in the restore. For more information on options, see Restoring Salesforce Data to Salesforce.

      1. Click Run.

      2. Click Confirm.

    • To perform record level restore:

      1. Click Record level restore.

        The Backup content page appears.

      2. From the Object list, select the object.

      3. Select the records, and then click Restore.

        The Restore options dialog box appears.

      4. Next to Restore target, select where to restore the records:

      5. Click Run.

      6. Click Confirm.
