With recovery with repave, you can repave your protected VMs/instances by replacing the operating system disk with a known clean version. Repaving ensures secure and reliable recovery by eliminating vulnerabilities and malicious changes from the OS.
In the Commvault Cloud software, recovery with repave is the same process as recovery with attaching a disk/volume to a new VM/instance.
Supported Sources and Destinations
You can recover with repave (and recover with attaching a disk/volume to a new VM/instance) from sources (first column) to destinations (subsequent columns) as follows:
Source/Destination | Amazon EC2 | Azure | Google Cloud |
---|---|---|---|
Amazon EC2 | Yes | Yes | -- |
Azure | Yes | Yes | -- |
Google Cloud | -- | -- | Yes |
Hyper-V | Yes | Yes | -- |
Nutanix | -- | Yes | -- |
VMware | Yes | Yes | -- |
Settings and Options
The settings and options that are available for recovery with repave (and for recovery with attach disk/volume to a new VM/instance) depend on the destination. For detailed steps, see the recovery with repave page for the destination hypervisor.
