Preinstallation Checklist for Remote Office Appliance RO1200

FQDN or Host name

The default hostname for the appliance.

The host name must be fully resolvable and addressable from all the servers that you want to backup.

IP address

Subnet mask

Default gateway

By default this information is automatically added in the appliance using DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).

If you disable the option to automatically obtain the IPv4 address, you must provide the following information:

• Static IP address

• Subnet mask

• Default gateway

DNS server

By default this information is automatically added in the appliance using DHCP.

If you disable the option to automatically obtain the DNS Server address, you must provide the following information:

• Preferred DNS server

• Alternate DNS server

Domain name (Optional)

Domain name is required, if you want to add the appliance to an existing domain,

Domain username and password (Optional)

User credentials required to add the appliance to an existing domain.

Server/Gateway name

The name of the region-specific Server / Gateway to which the appliance must be docked. This must be obtained from Commvault Cloud support.

To obtain the region-specific Server / Gateway information, log on to https://login.metallic.io/, and then click the Create a case link displayed at the bottom-right corner of the page.

The Create a Support Case page appears. Add the following information:

• Add your contact information.

• In the Brief description box, enter RO1200:Request for region-specific Server / Gateway & Tenant Rights Increase for Appliance.

• In the Additional Details box, enter the following details:

  • The name of your Remote Office Appliance RO1200.

  • The FQDN of your Remote Office Appliance RO1200.

  • The region to which your appliance will be copying data.
