Perform a Test Backup and Restore

To verify that the HyperScale X Appliance is set up correctly, perform a test backup and restore.

Steps for backing up and restoring a file server is used in this page. If you have a different server refer to the backup and restore pages associated with that server, as the sequence may vary, depending on the server type.

Test BackUp

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File Server.

   The File servers page appears.

2. In the row for a file server, click the action button , and then click Back up.

   The Select backup level dialog box appears.

3. Click OK.

Test Restore

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File Server.

   The File servers page appears.

2. In the row for the server, click the action button , and then click Restore.

   The Backup content page appears.

3. Select the folders to restore and then click the Restore button.

   The Restore dialog box appears.

4. Click Submit.
