You can add or remove a role associated with a Backup Gateway.
Note
The software automatically removes DDB role for a MediaAgent when all the DDB partitions are moved from the MediaAgent.
Before You Begin
- User must have MediaAgent Management permission on the Backup Gateway.
- User must have edit permission on the storage pool.
Procedure
- From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Storage > Disk. The Disk page appears.
- Click the disk storage that you want to associate a Backup Gateway with.
The disk storage page appears. - Click the Backup locations tab.
- To add a role to a Backup Gateway, in the Associated Backup Gateways section, for the Backup Gateway you want to add role for, click the Action button, and then click Add role.
- To remove a role for a Backup Gateway, complete the following steps:
- In the Associated Backup Gateways section, for the Backup Gateway you want to remove role for, click the Action button, and then click Remove roles.
The Confirm remove roles dialog box appears. - Under Roles, select the roles you want to remove.
- Click Save.
If you removed all the roles, then the Backup Gateway disappears from the Associated Backup Gateways section.
- In the Associated Backup Gateways section, for the Backup Gateway you want to remove role for, click the Action button, and then click Remove roles.
