Modifying a Backup Plan in Simplified View

The simplified view for backup plan enables you to view and modify the most popular settings of backup plans created while creating a new configuration on the Commvault Cloud hub. For example, you can easily access and manage the RPO settings of a backup plan.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Plans.

    The Plans page appears.

  2. In the Plans section, click the backup plan that you want to modify.

    The backup plan page appears.

  3. On the Overview tab, you can view and modify the following:

    Associated entity count

    To modify the entities that are associated with the backup plan:

    • Click the number next to the solution name.

    • On the Associated entities tab, in the row for the associated entity, click Edit association.

      The Edit plan dialog box appears.

    • In the Plan box, select None or a different backup plan.

    • Click Save.

    RPO

    • To modify an existing backup frequency, click edit edit button outline grey/gray pencil next to an existing backup frequency.

      The Edit backup frequency dialog box appears.

      • Modify the backup type and the frequency for backups.

      • To delete a backup frequency, click Delete.

        Note

        You can delete all backup job schedules from backup plans, including the default incremental backup job schedule.

    Backup copies

    1. To modify retention period of the backup copies.

      • Click edit edit button outline grey/gray pencil next to the backup copy and specify the amount of time to retain the backup.

      • To add a copy:

      • Click Add Secondary Copy.

        The Add Copy dialog box appears.

      • Add the details and click Save.

        Note

        You can add a storage pool by clicking add plus_icon next to Storage location.

  4. To view and modify the backup content, security, snapshot options, override restrictions, tags, database options, and settings tile, move the Advanced view toggle key to the right.

Note

If you modify backup plan configuration using advanced view, then the default view will be set to Advanced view and simplified view will no longer be available.
