Complete the necessary setup for backing up Azure Cosmos DB for NoSQL.
Procedure

If you do not have a registered Azure app, register a new Azure app.

Complete the database guided setup using one of the following methods:

Direct to cloud: Use this method to back up Azure databases that can be accessed via a public endpoint. This method uses the Commvault Cloud infrastructure, so you don't need to configure your own backup gateways.

Backup gateway: Use this method to back up Azure databases that cannot be accessed using a public endpoint. This method requires installing a Metallic backup gateway adjacent to your Azure databases.

Note
If all instances are already configured in a particular region and an additional instance is created, any backup jobs that run for the additional instance will fail, since there is no content to back up.
