When restoring from a virtual machine backup, you can choose to convert a virtual machine to be used with a different hypervisor. This feature is referred to as a cross-hypervisor restore, VM conversion, or cloud migration (that is, when restoring from an on-premises deployment to a cloud platform).
You can perform conversions from streaming backups or from secondary copies.
