Creating a Subclient for Oracle Logical Dump Backups

You can create a subclient to run backups using the Oracle Logical Dump utility.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The database overview page appears.

2. On the Instances tab, click the instance.

   The instance page appears.

3. On the Subclients tab, click Add logical dump subclient.

   The Add subclient dialog appears.

4. In the Subclient name box, type the subclient name.

5. From the Plan list, select a backup plan.

6. In the Number of streams box, type the number of streams that the software uses for backups.

7. Select the option to either back up the full database or a list of schemas.

   • To back up the full database, select Full database.

   • To back up schemas, select Schema, and then from the schema list, select the schemas to back up.

8. In the Staging path box, type the complete path on the access node where the software places the dump file.

   The export dump files are placed in CVEXjobID folders under the path that you define.

9. Click SAVE.
