Creating an Archive Plan

You must create an archive plan to start archiving your data on the NAS server.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Archiving.

The Archive file servers page appears.

  2. In the upper-right corner of the page, from the Add list, select Plan.

The Create Archive Plan dialog box appears.

  3. In the Plan name box, enter the name of the plan.

  4. Optional: Under Archive frequency, update the RPO options:

    1. In the Archive box, click edit, and then specify how often incremental archive operations are run.

You can specify the frequency in number of hours, days, weeks, months, or years. If you specify the frequency in days, then specify the start time for the jobs. The time is according to the time zone of the client.

    2. To update the archiving window for incremental jobs, in the Archive window box, click edit, and then select the days and times when archiving jobs will run.

    3. From the Retention period list, select the retention period for archived data.

  5. Under Archiving rules, specify the criteria for the type of data to be archived:

    1. To archive files that have not been modified for a specific number of days, from the File timestamp list, select Last modified, and then type the number of days/months/years.

    2. To archive files that have not been accessed for a specific number of days, from the File timestamp list, select Last accessed, and then type the number of days/months/years.

    3. To archive files based on file size, in the File size Minimum file size box, type the file size in KB/MB/GB.

      Note

The archiving rules apply only when all of the selected conditions met.

    4. From the Data classification tags list, select tagsets or tags to classify the data while archiving.

      Note

Data classification-based archiving feature is supported only for newly created content groups after the May 2024 Product Release. Archive plans should have data classification tag rule associated with them.
