Classifying Data Using Tags

You can use data classification tagsets and tags to classify data. Tags can be applied to or removed from folders and files analyzed for content groups.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Archiving > Data classification.

  2. From the NAS servers list, select the server.

    The content groups appear.

  3. Expand the desired content group to view the content.

  4. Click the desired content to view the files and folders in the grid.

  5. Select the files or folders to be tagged.

  6. To apply tags, do the following:

    1. In the Actions column, click the action button action_button, and then click Apply tags.

      The Apply tags dialog box appears.

    2. You can tag either the selected files and folders or all items within the selected content group.

      You can also search for files and folders that match specific criteria to apply tags.

    3. Select the tagset or tag to be applied to the content.

      You can apply more than one tagset or tag at the same time.

    4. Click Apply.

    Note

    If there are large number of files and folders to be tagged, a tagging job is started.

  7. To remove tags, do the following:

    1. In the Actions column, click the action button action_button, and then click Remove tags.

      The Remove tags dialog box appears.

    2. You can remove the tags from either the selected files and folders or all items within the selected content group.

    3. Select the tagset or tag to be removed from the content.

      You can remove more than one tagset or tag at the same time.

    4. Click Remove.
