Backing Up an Azure Arc VM on Azure Local as a File Server

You can perform an on-demand backup for an Azure Arc VM on Azure Local that you added to Commvault Cloud as a Windows or Linux file server.

To help protect your Trusted VMs, Commvault recommends following Microsoft’s official guidance for backing them up. See, Manage backup and recovery of Trusted launch for Azure Local VMs enabled by Azure Arc.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > File servers.

   The Overview page appears.

2. On the File servers tab, click the file server.

   The file server page appears.

3. On the Subclients tab, in the row for the subclient, click the action button , and then select Back up.

   The Backup dialog box appears.

4. Under Backup options, select the backup type.

5. To receive an email when the backup completes, select the When the job completes, notify me via email check box.

6. Click Submit.
