Adding Cloud Storage

Add the cloud storage that you want to store your backups in.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, click Storage > Cloud.

   The Cloud page appears.

2. In the upper-right area of the page, click Add.

   The Add cloud storage page appears.

3. Enter the details needed to add the cloud storage. Depending on the cloud storage provider, the required options might differ vary.

   1. From the Type list, select the cloud service provider.

   2. In the Name box, enter the name of the storage.

   3. From the MediaAgent list, select the Backup Gateway that will write the data to the cloud storage.

      Note

      The list displays Backup Gateways classified as Active (Backup Gateways having license) and Inactive (Backup Gateways having Backup Gateway package installed, but license not consumed). The license is auto consumed if you select an inactive Backup Gateway.

      Optionally, click the + sign to create new Backup Gateway.

   4. In the Service host box, enter the name of the cloud server host.

      For some cloud service providers, the Service host box is populated with the default value for that cloud service provider.

   5. From the Credentials list, choose a pre-defined credential.

      Optionally, click the + sign to create new credential to access a cloud library. For more information, see Adding Credentials to a Cloud Library.

   6. In the Bucket or Container box, enter the name of an existing bucket (or container) that you want to use.

      Note

      If the bucket does not already exist, a new bucket will be created. This is applicable to all storage classes.

   7. Slide the Use deduplication toggle key to the right, to enable deduplication on the storage.

   8. Click Add to add a Deduplication DB location.

      The Add Deduplication DB location dialog box appears.

      • From the MediaAgent list, select the Backup Gateway associated with the deduplication database.

      • In the Deduplication DB location box, enter a path to the deduplication database in the selected Backup Gateway.

        Optionally,click the folder button to select a pre-existing Deduplication DB location.

        The Select deduplication DB location dialog box appears.

        Select the deduplication database and then click Save.

      • Click Add to exit the Add Deduplication DB location dialog box.

4. Click Save.
