Preventing Automatic Client Owner Assignment

You can turn off automatic client owner assignment by the Metallic Communication Service (CVD). When users activate Edge Monitor, they are assigned as client owners.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > System.

   The System page appears.

2. Click Laptop options.

   The Laptop options page appears.

3. On the Laptop configuration tab, in the Automatic laptop ownership assignment section, click Edit .

   The Automatic laptop ownership assignment dialog box appears.

4. Select All users of the laptop's local user groups in the list and enter any random string that is not a user group in the company.

Results

The new owner assignment setting takes effect when the CVD service restarts or after 24 hours.
