Use this dialog box to set user preferences. This dialog box includes the following tabs:
General
Use this tab to specify a default browser for viewing HTML files, as well as viewing options for the CommCell Browser.
Use this Browser to Open HTML Files
The option to choose the web browser the software will use to open HTML files, if it is different from the default browser configured on the computer.
Display Floating Restore Progress Bar on Submission of Restore Job
The option to display the floating Restore Progress bar during a restore operation.
Do not show GUI updates on startup
The option to prevent update reminders to appear every time the CommCell is started.
CommCell Browser should update only summary feature on workspace
The option to reflect any change or selection on the CommCell Browser components in the summary window only. The summary window will open if closed. If this option is not selected, then any other feature opened in the workspace, such as Schedules, and including the summary window, will update based on the navigation selection in the CommCell Browser.
Save Table Preferences
The option to save table preferences for the tables in the following windows:

Admin Job History

Restore Job History
Any modification made to these windows, such as adding or removing columns (column positions and widths), will remain visible every time you log on to the CommCell Console.
Save Ribbon State
The option to keep the last tab opened in the tool bar menu. When this option is not selected, the Home tab is opened every time you log on to the CommCell Console.
Save Dialog(s) Size
The option to save the size of dialog boxes.
Do not show popup for all alert
The option to suppress the pop-up window for console alerts. A list of console notifications remains available. From the CommCell Console ribbon, on the Home tab, click the arrow under Alerts, and then select Console Alerts.
Font size
Lists the font sizes. Select the default font size for the CommCell Console windows. You must restart the CommCell Console for the font size change to take effect.
Jobs
Use this tab to edit job retention options.
Status retention in Job Controller of Killed/Failed/Completed Jobs

Retention Time (Secs)
The amount of time (in seconds) allotted for job retention. The maximum value is 86400 seconds, which is one day.
Show confirmation while suspending jobs
Displays confirmation dialog box when suspending a job.
Add Color Highlights
The option to color-code job statuses so that the colors appear in the Job Controller.

Choose Color Preference
The option to define the background color or the foreground (text) color of jobs in the Job Controller.

Job status list
The job statuses that can be color-coded.

Available colors
The colors that can be assigned to the job statuses.

- (minus) button
Removes a color preference.

Add Color Preference
Adds a color preference.
Client Computer Filter
Use this tab to filter Client Computers.
Show Unlicensed with software (Restore only Clients)
Select this option to display clients with software agents which doesn't consume any license.
Show Unlicensed without software
Select this option to display clients that have been deconfigured or that have no agent software installed. Clients with no agent software installed can be added to the list of client computers. This is helpful if installation must occur across a one way firewall. Once agent installation and registration is complete for these "pending" clients, they are no longer affected by this setting.
Show Virtual Machines
Select this option to display virtual machines in the CommCell Browser.
Show EDC Discovered Clients
Select this option to display EDC Discovered clients in the CommCell Browser.
Show Case Manager Clients
Select this option to display Case Manager reference copy clients in the CommCell Browser.
Show File Share archiver clients without agent license
Select the option to display the client computers that have the File Share Archiver Client installed along with the other Commvault packages for which the agent license is not consumed.
If a cluster group client is deconfigured, and you install the File Share Archiver Client in one of the active nodes, the cluster group client will not be visible in the CommCell Browser. Select this option to see the deconfigured cluster group client in the Client Computers node of the CommCell Browser.
Show Index Servers
Select this option to display index server clients in the CommCell Browser.
Show Index Store Pools
Select this option to display Index Store Pool clients in the CommCell Browser.
Show HAC Clusters
Select this option to display High Availability Computing (HAC) nodes for Index Server clouds, in the CommCell Browser.
Client Computer Group Filter
Use this tab to filter Client Computer Groups.
Show Unlicensed with software (Restore only Clients)
Select this option to display client groups with software agents which do not consume any license.
Show Unlicensed without software

Use this tab to filter the display of IntelliSnap configured MediaAgents from the list of MediaAgents available during backup and restore operations.
Show MediaAgents with no libraries
Select this option to display all MediaAgents, including MediaAgents with no configured libraries.
Date and Time Formats
Use this tab to set the time zone and the date and time formats.
CommServe time zone
Click to use the time zone used by the CommServe.
Current system time zone
Click to use the time zone used by the current system.
User defined time zone
Click to select a time zone from the Time Zone list.

Lists time zones. To change the time zone, select one from the list.
Current system locale default formats
Click to use the date and time formats used by the current system.
User defined date and time formats
Click to select date and time formats from predefined lists. The date and time formats are used in the CommCell Console. For example, the format for short time is used when you create a rule for the operations window.
