Ransomware Protection for Disk Libraries on a Linux MediaAgent

The Linux MediaAgent contains built-in Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux), which is a Linux kernel security module that provides a mechanism for supporting access control security policies. Our SELinux module contains pre-configured security policies to protect the disk libraries hosted on the MediaAgent from any ransomware.

To enable the feature, execute the cvsecurity.py tool on the MediaAgent immediately after the installation. You are recommended to execute the tool before you configure any disk libraries. However, executing the tool after you configure any disk libraries does not cause any issues as long as the MediaAgent meets the system requirements.

Note

Ransomware protection is not supported for the HyperScale Appliance where Commserve is deployed within.
