Performing a Seamless Operating System Upgrade on an Index Server

You can upgrade the operating system on a computer where the Index Store package is installed without uninstalling the software package.

Before You Begin

Complete the tasks that are required for the computer you are upgrading:

• As a precautionary measure, perform a Disaster Recovery Backup.

• From the CommCell Console, kill all jobs that are running, waiting, pending, or stopped. For instructions, see Killing a Job.

• From the Process Manager window, stop all services.

Procedure

1. Upgrade the operating system.

2. If services are not already started, restart services from the Process Manager window.
