MongoDB Restore Operations

You can browse and restore backed-up MongoDB data.

Restore Destinations

You can restore the backed-up MongoDB data to the following destinations:

The restore destinations for MongoDB data are as follows:

  • In-place restore destination: Restore the data to the same path on the same client from which the database was backed up.

  • Out-of-place restore destination: You can restore the data to a new set of servers that have the same shard configuration as the source.

Note

  • Restoring a single data shard is not supported.

  • Restoring a single data shard along with the configuration server shard is not recommended for distributed data. The resulting restore might complete, but it will require manual intervention by the DBA.

Performing Restores

You can perform restores immediately or schedule them through the CommCell Console.
