Isilon Multi-Streaming Backups

With Isilon file servers running OneFS 8.0 or higher, you can configure multiple data streams to back up an individual content path on a subclient to increase the speed of backup operations. The number of available streams are distributed evenly among the content paths in the subclient. If the number of content paths is not evenly divisible by the number of streams, the remaining streams are distributed in serial order to the list of content paths in the subclient.

For example, if you configure four data streams on a subclient that contains two content paths, each content path will use two streams to back up the data (assuming there are at least four streams available when you run the backup job).
