Full System Recovery of PostgreSQL Database: Restoring the PostgreSQL Server

Restore the entire PostgreSQL Server from the instance level.

Before You Begin

Rebuild the Operating System

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Client Computers| <Client>| PostgreSQL.

  2. Right-click the <Instance>, and then click All Tasks | Restore PostgreSQL Server to recover the entire PostgreSQL server.

  3. Select the source server name only from the Destination Server list for restoring the entire server along with its data and logs that was lost due to the corruption or accidental damage.

  4. Click OK to restore the entire PostgreSQL database server.

    The data and logs that were lost will be restored as they existed prior to the corruption or damage.

What To Do Next

After you have completed the restore, perform a full backup of the PostgreSQL server.
