Excluding Media Picked for Refresh

You can exclude a media that was previously picked for refresh operation.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Storage Resources > Libraries > Tape Library > Media By Location > Media In Library.

  2. In the Media In Library window displayed in the right-pane, select the media.

  3. Right-click the media, point to Refresh and then click Unpick and Prevent for Refresh.
    A warning message is displayed confirming that the refresh operation will exclude the media for refresh. Click Yes.

  4. The media is unselected and will not be refreshed.

    Note

    You cannot exclude a media when the media refresh job is running. You must first stop the media refresh operation and then exclude the media to prevent refresh. As a result, all the data consolidation operations performed on the new media is reverted.
