Configuring Users as Client Owners for Laptop Backup

You can assign users and user groups (who are not members of the Administrators group) as laptop client owners from the CommCell Console.

You can also assign laptop client owners using the command line interface. See the following procedures:

• Setting Owners on a Client or Client Computer Group

• Setting Owner User Groups on a Client

• Setting Owner User Groups on a Client Computer Group

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computer Groups > Laptop Clients.

2. Right-click the appropriate client, and then click Properties.

   The Client Computer Properties dialog box appears.

3. On the Security tab, on the Owners sub-tab, make the following selections:

   • To add a user as the client owner, in the Users box, enter the user name.

     To add a domain user, enter the user name as domain_name\user_name.

   • To add a CommCell or external user group as the client owner, in the User Groups box, enter the user group name.

4. Click OK.
