Restores for Alibaba Cloud

For Alibaba Cloud, you can restore full instances or guest files and folders.

Restore Process

Commvault performs the following actions during a restore:

1. Create empty disks and attach them to the access node (VSA proxy).

2. Write data to the disks.

3. Create a snapshot of the OS disk and, from the snapshot, create a new image.

4. Create a new instance based on the recreated image.

5. Attach data disks and add peripherals such as the elastic IP address.

6. Delete the restored OS disk, and then delete the image and snapshot.
