Migrating Clients to a Company

You can add CommCell clients to a company, and you can migrate clients from one company to a different company.

Tenant admins and tenant operators can migrate the clients from one company to another.

Note

If a server has the CommServe, WebServer, orWeb Console package installed, you will not be able to change the company.

Procedure

  1. Select the client that you want to migrate.

To select a file server client

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File servers.

    The File servers page appears.

  2. In the row for the client that you want to migrate, click the Action button action_button , and then click Change Company.

To select a laptop client

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Laptops.

    The Laptops page appears.

  2. In the row for the client that you want to migrate, click the Action button action_button , and then click Change Company.

To select a Virtualization client

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Virtualization.

    The Virtual machines page appears.

  2. On the Hypervisors tab, click the hypervisor.

    The hypervisor page appears.

  3. In the row for the hypervisor that you want to migrate, click the Action button action_button, and then click Change Company.

To select multiple clients

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Servers.

    The Servers page appears.

  2. Select the clients that you want to migrate, and in the upper-right, click Change Company.

The Change Company dialog box appears.

  1. From the Select Company box, select the company to migrate the clients to.

    To migrate a client computer back to the CommCell, select CommCell.

  2. Click Preview.

    The Affected Servers list dialog box appears.

  3. Review the list of clients that will be migrated to the selected company, and then click Save.
