You can change the configuration for a hypervisor by editing the hypervisor settings.
Before You Begin
-
To configure access to vCloud Director for VMware, obtain the vCloud host name and user credentials.
-
To select a MediaAgent to recover UNIX file system data, a file recovery enabler for Linux must be deployed in your environment. For instructions, see Deploying a VMware File Recovery Enabler for Linux.
-
For offline CommCell environments, to deploy a new VMware FREL or Linux access node, you must download the VMware image file (.OVA) and save it to a location on the access node. For instructions, see Configuring Deployment of the VMware Image in an Offline CommCell Environment.
-
If you need to deploy a new access node during this process, see Deploying a VMware Access Node for Linux.
Procedure
-
From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Virtualization.
The Virtual machines page appears.
-
On the Hypervisors tab, click the hypervisor.
The hypervisor page appears.
-
On the Configuration tab, modify the settings for the hypervisor.
-
In the Activity Control area, click the toggle switch for Data backup or Data restore to control whether users can perform those operations for the hypervisor.

For Alibaba Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Azure, Hyper-V, OpenStack, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle VM, vCloud Director, and VMware, you can configure File recovery enabler for Linux: Select a MediaAgent that has been configured to recover UNIX file system data.
For VMware, you can create a new File Recovery Enabler for Linux (FREL), and assign it to this hypervisor. Click Deploy New FREL VM.
-
For application-aware backups, you can specify the credentials that are used to access guest VMs:
Guest Credentials: Specify a user name and password that can be used for all guest VMs on the hypervisor.
-
Override time zone: Select a time zone for this hypervisor. This setting overrides the default time zone (that is, the time zone of the CommServe server).
If you change this setting and also change the Override time zone setting at the VM Group level, the system will use the VM Group level's Override time zone setting.
